Get To Know Me
What does a first session with you look like?
Generally, our first interaction will consist of a free phone 15-min phone conversation, as I offer this consultation so that we can introduce ourselves and get to know each other a bit more. I will present questions to you about your reasons for initiating therapy at this time and some questions about your background to determine if I can provide with the best support to you. You will also have time to ask questions about me and my approach. If we proceed to an initial virtual session, we will have time to further get to know one another as our therapeutic relationship is important. I will also inquire more about you and proceed with our intake process by establishing your treatment goals, completion of other initial paperwork as needed, and welcoming you to my practice!
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I consider my approach to wellness as fully integrated and intersectional. As we engage in sessions, I remain cognizant of my clients unique culture and lived experiences by way of their gender, caste, sex, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, religion, disability, height, age, weight and physical appearance.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I believe life and our existence is all encompassing. Therefore my approach is influenced by an ecological perspective in which I incorporate a whole human approach involving interpersonal, communal, global, environmental, biological, and spiritual impacts to the self and our existence.
