Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I was inspired to be a social worker/therapist when my family and I were helped by a social worker when my aunt was dying from cancer. O began to ask her questions and the social worker told me all the things you can do with a social worker degree. I was very intrigued, and my passion has always been helping others improve their overall well-being.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I am very friendly. I believe listening to the clients to provide a safe space can help the client and myself identify patterns, themes and habits in their thinking and behavior to begin to challenge my clients’ thoughts/behaviors and perspective. I am very supportive, engaging and collaborative to developing a treatment plan that best fits their needs using different modalities including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive behavioral Therapy and Strength Based Perspective.
How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?
My clients are experts in their own lives. I establish goals with my clients through partnering with my clients on what they want to work on. I can offer suggestions on what I think is needed to work on after I have gathered self-reported information from the client during the initial assessment. However, overall, the goals are ultimately decided by the client.

Professional Background
LicensureNew York, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, 092461
Training/CertificationsI had trainings in CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy and more
Education
Fordham University, Master of Social Work, Social work, 2011 — My concentration was client centered management which focused on obtaining clinical skills as well as learning about administration.
Work HistoryI have experience working with teens, young and older adults on anxiety, depression, self-esteem and conflict in relationships using evidence-based theories that help with the issues above and more. I used Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused and Strength Based. I believe focusing on your strength along with your values can guild you either to a life you want to live or away from the life you want to live if not guided by values. I also believe that your thoughts influence your emotions and behaviors. CBT helps identify, challenge and overcome dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors.
