What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, relational, and holistic. I work from the belief that many of the struggles people face such as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or difficulties in relationships are often connected to past experiences and patterns that developed as ways to cope or adapt. In therapy, we work together to understand these patterns and create space for new ways of experiencing yourself and relating to others.
I integrate evidence-based modalities including EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. These approaches allow us to work not only through conversation but also by addressing how emotions and experiences are held in the body and nervous system. This can help clients process unresolved experiences more deeply and create meaningful shifts that go beyond surface-level coping.
My style is collaborative, curious, and grounded. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe exploring difficult experiences while also feeling supported and understood. Together, we move at a pace that feels manageable, focusing on building insight, strengthening emotional awareness, and supporting lasting change in how you relate to yourself and the people in your life.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
My personal experiences and identities shape how I understand and connect with many of the challenges clients bring into therapy. As an Vietnamese American woman, I’m familiar with the complexity of navigating cultural identity, family expectations, and the pressure to balance personal needs with family or community values. These experiences have helped me develop a deeper understanding of how culture, intergenerational patterns, and societal messages can influence emotional wellbeing, relationships, and the way we see ourselves.
Because of this, I approach my work with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect for the many layers that shape a person’s life. I recognize that many clients, especially AANHPI and other BIPOC individuals, may be carrying experiences that are not always acknowledged or understood in traditional mental health spaces. My lived experiences allow me to hold space for conversations around identity, belonging, family dynamics, and intergenerational trauma with care and nuance.
At the same time, I remain mindful that every client’s story is different. My role is not to assume shared experiences, but to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they explore their own experiences and move toward healing.
