Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s stories—what shaped them, what helped them survive, and what they hope for. My early work with children and families navigating trauma, foster care, and major transitions showed me how powerful steady, compassionate support can be. Over time, that calling only deepened. I chose this field because I believe healing happens through safe relationships, practical tools, and a space where you can be fully seen.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Clients often tell me they feel both understood and guided when we work together. My style is calm, direct, and supportive—I’m here to create a safe space, but also to help you build skills that feel useful in daily life. I move at your pace, honor your lived experience, and collaborate with you to set goals that genuinely reflect what you want for your life. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start; we’ll make sense of things together.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
As an adoptive parent in a blended, cross-racial, neurodiverse family, I understand how complex, beautiful, and challenging family systems can be. These experiences deepen my empathy for the families and individuals I support, especially those navigating identity, transitions, or trauma. They remind me daily how important compassion, flexibility, and cultural humility are in therapy. My personal and professional worlds have shaped a therapeutic style that is grounded, steady, and deeply respectful of each person’s story.

Professional Background
LicensureTexas, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, 52586
Education
Texas Christian University, Associate of Applied Arts, 2025 — My MBA deepened my understanding of leadership, stress, decision-making, and human behavior in high-pressure environments. This background helps me support clients navigating workplace challenges, burnout, career transitions, and complex family or organizational dynamics. It also strengthens my ability to offer practical, real-world strategies that complement therapeutic work.
University of Texas at Arlington, Master of Social Work, Direct Practice with Children & Families, 2008 — During my Master of Social Work program, I focused on clinical practice with children, adolescents, and families, with an emphasis on trauma, attachment, and systems of care. My training included work in high-acuity settings, school-based services, and community mental health, shaping my trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to therapy.
Work HistoryMy clinical experience comes from years of supporting children, teens, and families in high-acuity settings, schools, and outpatient therapy. I’ve focused on adoption, foster care, trauma, and major life transitions, which shaped my understanding of family systems and identity. Over time, I’ve developed a calm, practical, and strengths-based style.
