If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz. No Bad Parts teaches that we have all several "parts" of us that hold memories and experiencs that make us who we are. For example, you may have a part of you that really enjoys being alone, while another part feels neglected when not invited to go out with friends. Both parts are entirely valid and have reasons for feeling the way they do. This concept guides the way I help clients, and also how I navigate my own life.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I named my practice after the manatee for a few reasons. Manatees are gentle, curious, nurturing, and welcoming. These are all characteristics that I strive for as a human and as a therapist. Manatees are also my favorite animal, and swimming with manatees is where I feel the most at peace. My goal is for clients to feel welcomed, accepted, and are able to find their own peace!

Work HistoryAre you feeling stuck in a relationship, job, or a specific thought, feeling or behavior? Have you experienced something traumatic and want a safe place to explore how it's impacted you? I would love to walk with you through your healing journey! I use humor, compassion, curiousity, and a human-to-human approach in therapy to help clients feel heard and understood.
I offer psychotherapy and Brainspotting to teens 14+, adults, and families. If you are struggling with any of the following concerns, I may be the right fit to walk with you through your therapeutic journey! Concerns may include; Anxiety, OCD, rumination, depression, PTSD, trauma-related symptoms, chronic pain, grief, unmanaged stress, body-image, gender and sexuality, and life transitions. I am extremely passionate about working with; the LGBTQIA+ community, teens and young adults, intrusive thoughts and compulsions, trauma-work, and issues relating to womanhood.
Each person is so unique, and I believe that mental health treatment should reflect that. I use Brainspotting, IFS (parts work), mindfulness, and a blend of other therapeutic treatments to help clients meet their goals and find their authentic selves.
I understand that finding the right therapist is a huge part of working through the hard stuff. I am fascinated by the brain-body connection, and feel I'm best able to help by providing someone a safe, judgement-free space to get to know their own internal worlds. If you desire a gentle, curious approach to therapy, reach out today for a free consultation!
