Work HistorySteven enjoys working with the sensitive, intuitive, and creative folks. People come to therapy feeling stuck, depressed, anxious, and burned out. He can help increase their self-esteem, make life feel more meaningful, tolerate their distressing emotions, navigate relationship issues, and become more mindful of themselves by tuning into their inner experience. Being neurodivergent has some great benefits (many of the most influential and creative people were neurodivergent). On the flip side, it comes with challenges like sensory sensitivities, impulsivity, communication differences, executive functioning differences, sleep difficulties, emotional dysregulation, dyslexia/dyspraxia, and burnout. Growing up unsupported can make you feel "weird" or "different," like something's wrong with you. Over time, this can lead to intense feelings of shame, cPTSD symptoms, and more over a lifetime. Steven specializes in working with adult-diagnosed (or suspected) neurodivergent populations (Autism, ADHD) and all the accompanying co-occurring conditions that may come with it (PTSD, OCD, addiction, etc.). Steven is extremely passionate about helping these people because, like them, he is also neurodivergent and has a personal understanding of how difficult it can be to navigate it alone. this area. For over a decade, Steven has proudly served his community in the Rogue Valley. He has extensive clinical experience in working with the substance use population at intensive-outpatient co-occurring centers and has achieved a CADC III - showing his expertise in this area. Additionally, he is very familiar with 12-step work. He has also worked in community mental health for several years, treating a wide range of conditions. During this time, he discovered the population with whom he works best and began carving out a niche in this area.
