Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I have wanted to become a therapist since adolescence, when I was navigating my own mental health challenges and working with multiple therapists throughout my life. Through that journey, I gained a deeper understanding of myself and experienced the impact that compassionate, skilled support can have. Those experiences helped shape my desire to support others facing similar struggles.
I carry a deep passion for helping people find hope, healing, and a greater sense of themselves. I often view this work as an act of service, walking alongside others as they navigate pain, growth, and the possibility of change.
What does a first session with you look like?
The first session may look a little different than future sessions, as it is focused on building trust, rapport, and an initial connection that helps form the foundation of therapy. During this time, I will ask questions about your medical history, family background, past experiences, strengths, and the treatment goals you would like to work toward moving forward.
My hope is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable beginning to share your story. Whether this is your first experience with therapy or your fifth, I encourage you to come with openness, patience, and curiosity as we begin the process together.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
When working with me as your therapist, I want you to know that I am an open, compassionate, and caring person. Therapy can take many forms and looks different for everyone, so there is no judgment about where you are in your journey. There are therapeutic modalities I especially enjoy using; however, if an approach does not feel helpful or effective for you, I am very flexible and willing to adjust our work together to find what fits your needs best. My goal is to walk alongside you each step of the way, offering support, encouragement, and a space where you can be yourself.
I also value the human moments in therapy, whether that means sharing laughter, sitting with emotion, or offering comfort during difficult times. I welcome working with people from all walks of life, and I genuinely value what I learn from my clients. In many ways, my clients are some of my greatest teachers.
