In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
As an older clinician, I believe my life experience has been so informative in my work with clients. I have learned through personal experiences how much trauma can influence a person's lens on the world as well as being a gateway for growth. I know that we can only share with others from experience, strength and hope and that authenticity is an invaluable tool in assisting others on their own journey.

Education
Virginia Commonwealth University, Master of Science in Counseling, Clinical Counseling, 1998 — My degree was specialized allowing me to focus on areas of interest although I developed a strong skill set around group and family dynamics.
Work HistoryI have worked in various settings throughout my 25 year career, however, over time I have primarily focused on working in private practice and most recently working with couples. My approach to couples counseling is a Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT). It is an exciting new way of working with couples to assist in becoming more secure and having a satisfying relationship. I believe secure functioning relationships during these turbulent times can be invaluable to a happier healthier life.
