What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path into mental health stem from a background in education and community work. While working in the community and education I noticed a common theme of families struggling with mental health concerns. In addition to my own family's story this led me to the path of becoming a mental health therapist.

Swiyah Whittington, completed a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MSCMHC) with academic honors while raising a family. There is a specific area of study was her interest in chronically mentally ill population as well as the uses of the somatic.
Work History
As a therapist I'm trained under a sex therapist to gain more knowledge regarding the uses of the somatic. This practice had a social justice model as well. While working with this practice I also learned entrance with clients from the LGBTQ population. This is where I grew extensive knowledge in practices and modalities to assist individuals in developing their true identity.
