Work HistoryWith over 25 years of clinical experience, including more than 20 years in private practice, I offer a warm, therapeutic approach to helping clients with everyday life stressors as well as complex challenges. While I have extensive experience working across the lifespan—from preschoolers to older adults—my current practice focuses exclusively on helping adult individuals and couples. Prior to establishing my private practice, I honed my clinical skills in diverse, high-intensity settings, including community mental health, a domestic violence shelter, and a Veterans Administration (VA) outpatient mental health program. I am the Founder of Dixon Professional Counseling Services, LLC and in the early years of my private practice, I worked extensively with children and families navigating Child Protective Services, as well as the foster care and adoption systems. This deep, decades-long background provides me with a unique lens for my current specialization. Today, I work extensively with individuals dealing with family and work-related stressors, anxiety, and profound burnout, as well as couples struggling with poor communication, financial strains, intimacy disconnects, and infidelity.
