What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I was inspired to become a therapist after going through it myself. When I was in my 20s, I struggled with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts and feelings. I started seeing a therapist every week and eventually the experience completely turned my life around. It gave me a safe, supportive place to be understood and helped me to better understand why I was struggling. It also gave me new skills to rebuild my beliefs, habits and self-worth. The process was so inspiring that I became fascinated with psychology, started reading books and articles, and found myself passionate about the science and art of healing and personal growth. I knew that I wanted to give back the gift I'd been given and be part of that process for others. I also believe that helping each other heal our hearts and minds is not only deeply needed in society, but will help make the world a more peaceful place.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach is warm, compassionate, kind and collaborative and I tailor treatment specifically to your unique personality, goals and strengths. I approach each session with curiosity and openness. Clients say they feel safe, relaxed and comfortable sharing with me, and appreciate that I truly listen. When appropriate, I also like to suggest extra tools & resources for clients to practice in between sessions to further enhance treatment and progress. Working with me, you can expect to make tangible progress from the first session onward as we work toward achieving your therapeutic goals.
What excites you most about the evolving mental health landscape?
I'm currently excited by the emergence of psychedelic assisted therapy in Colorado, as there is so much research and personal testimony to indicate the powerful healing potentials of natural medicines. Similarly, I'm excited by the convergence and gradual evolution toward integrating western science and medicine with spiritual and indigenous wisdom and traditions in our approach to mental health and personal wellbeing. This must be approached with care, cultural sensitivity and respect, but I believe there is great potential in expanding our understanding of mental health.

Work HistoryIn my 12 years as a therapist, I've worked in a diverse range of mental health settings and with people from all walks of life, and this depth of experience informs the quality of care I provide. Specifically, I've worked in acute crisis care for teens, inpatient psychiatric hospital with adults, teens and children, community mental health outpatient care including case management and individual & family therapy, and I helped grow one of Denver's most successful group private practices specializing in therapy for men. Since 2022, I've been running my own solo private practice, taking all the training and experience I've gained to help my clients heal, reach their goals and thrive in their lives. I'm passionate about mental health and wellness, dedicated to this work, and honored to be part of your journey.
