What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
After going to therapy myself, I learned how meaningful having a non-judgmental space to process emotions can be. Therapy got me through hard times, and helped me grow as a person. At that point, I knew that this was the role I wanted. Offering a supportive, private space to guide others growth is the greatest gift.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
In treatment, the best methods I am interested in currently, are a combination of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems). ACT encourages growth and challenges us. It encourages a focus on goals and values. While, IFS builds compassion and care. Making peace with our different parts allows us to feel whole. A combined approach lets us grow lovingly, with support, and mindfulness.
