Work HistoryMy joy of working with others began at the age of 21. I had just finished my Medical Assistant Certification and began working at a local hospital. This experience lasted 15 years in which I was able to witness all facets of life. It was during this time that I realized I wanted to dive deeper into the root of the multitude of issues I worked with. It was also during this time I had decided to go back to school for my Bachelors in Family Life Education. Each season brought me closer to working with individuals and families, walking beside them during times of crisis, but also celebrating their wins. I went to work with the State of Michigan as a Services Specialist, taking on positions in Child Protection Services, Foster Care Licensing, and Adoption. I then transitioned to working with the elderly and disabled, helping them qualify for Medicaid programs. Each step taught me the importance of how we all want to be seen and heard. So I decided to narrow my focus even more and completed my Masters in Counseling in 2020. This was such an interesting time in our world to jump into counseling, and it was at that moment that connection was at it's lowest point. To come full circle, these experiences led me to my primary focus in counseling and walking beside my clients looking for ways to help them with their anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, coping skills, and depression.
