Get To Know Me
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
Think Indigenous by Doug Good Feather
This book has changed how I view spirituality, community, and connecting with nature. I've learned to not take anything for granted. Even a recurring visit from a cardinal could mean something.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I knew I wanted to be a psychologist rather early. I want to say I was in middle school or entering high school. My aunt was diagnosed with schizophrenia around that time. She had been suffering for quite some time and no one was aware until she lost her employment and needed a place to stay. She lived with my family and that is when I saw the impact and grew more compassion towards those with mental illness. Of course I wanted to help as well!
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My approach is person-centered. I am very open and far from judgmental. No matter what clients express I am more interested in helping them grow and improve. That said, you are the expert of your experience. With my education and training combined with what you know about yourself we work together as a team.

Work HistoryI have worked in various human service professions prior to obtaining my Master's Degree. I have done case management for foster care, crisis phone counseling, and elder abuse investigation. For a brief time I also worked in a domestic violence shelter. All these service roles provided a great foundation for what I bring to my private practice.
