Work HistoryMy experience has been shaped by working closely with people facing major life challenges. I started in a shelter supporting individuals living with mental health and addiction issues. I partnered with our art therapist to help residents use creativity to process trauma and build healthier coping skills. I also taught job-readiness workshops, interview skills, and ran a Dress for Success program to help people prepare for work with confidence. I later supported students with special needs in the NYC public schools, which strengthened my patience, flexibility, and ability to break things down in a way anyone can understand. As a community coordinator, I worked with young people dealing with immigration stress, foster care, incarceration in the family, teen parenthood, and school setbacks. I provided emotional support, facilitated groups, connected families to services, and brought resources into the school community. I also led workshops for parents to help them understand their children’s needs and build effective parenting strategies. Across all of these roles, I’ve developed a strong specialty in supporting vulnerable populations and helping individuals and families feel understood, supported, and equipped to move forward.
