What are your biggest strengths as a therapist?
My greatest strength as a therapist is recognizing that my clients and I are equals. I don’t claim to have all the answers, and I never hide my own imperfections. I show up as my authentic self and encourage my clients to do the same. Therapy is a collaboration — not a hierarchy — and my clients never have to feel small or judged. My role is simply to see them, support them, and walk alongside them as they navigate their journey, and that’s what matters most.

Work History
I spent nearly two decades as a hairstylist, where I often felt like a therapist — listening, supporting, and connecting with people. This inspired me to go back to school and pursue a career in counseling. Along the way, I worked as a nutritional health coach, helping people with weight loss, but quickly realized that dieting often caused more stress than good. I shifted my focus to promoting self-love, balance, and intrinsic motivation, encouraging clients to break free from societal standards. During graduate school, I completed a year-long internship at the Family Counseling Center of the CSRA, a nonprofit dedicated to providing mental health care to underserved individuals who couldn’t otherwise afford it. Upon graduation, I was hired full-time and gained invaluable experience working with individuals, families, couples, children, and seniors from diverse backgrounds. This role deepened my passion for serving those who often felt overlooked. When the agency eventually closed its doors, I transitioned into private practice, where I was able to focus my work on adults, couples, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. This shift allowed me to tailor my approach to better serve those navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, identity, and life’s challenges. I’ve loved every moment of it! Given today’s political and social climate, I’ve only grown more passionate about being an ally and advocate for marginalized communities. My mission is to provide a safe, affirming space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported — no matter what.
