Education
Walden University, Master of Science, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2021 — My graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University provided in-depth training in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, assessment, and diagnosis, preparing me to work with diverse populations. My coursework included training in Techniques and Theories of Counseling, Lifespan Development, Assessment and Diagnosis, and Career Counseling, equipping me with a strong foundation in psychological theory and clinical application. In addition, I earned membership in Chi Sigma Iota, the international counseling honor society, reflecting my dedication to academic excellence and professional ethics.
St. John's University, Bachelor of Science, Management, 2004
Work HistoryMy experience in mental health began when I volunteered at a substance use recovery facility, where I worked with individuals overcoming addiction. That experience deepened my passion for helping people in recovery, leading me to intern there for a year, where I treated adult men and women facing addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges. In addition I recognized women with addictions had a different experience, which led me to facilitate a women's recovery group. From there, I transitioned into private practice, where I spent the next three years working with clients of all ages—from children to seniors. During this time, I helped individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, stress, and behavioral addictions. My work has reinforced my belief that healing is possible for everyone with the right support, and I tailor my approach to meet each client where they are.
