I've worked in inpatient psychiatric units, residential care facilities, and outpatient settings. My training at Portland State University gave me the theory, but my hands-on work with children, preteens, and teens taught me what actually helps.
I've worked with kids dealing with ADHD, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and trauma. I've helped families navigate behavioral issues that were tearing them apart. I approach this work using attachment theory, developmental stages, and systems thinking which simply means I look at the whole.
