Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I'm human. I've been through beautiful and challenging experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help. Growing up, I was always told I was a great listener and had the drive to help others. I struggled with anxiety from childhood into adulthood. When I first participated in counseling at my college, I knew that I could change, and what an honor it would be to help others realize that growth is possible too. I was sold that this career was for me.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
You can expect to be treated with empathy and compassion when working with me. We are in this together, so we will go at your pace and focus on working through what’s the most challenging for you. I utilize two different evidence-based techniques. HeartMath is a program based on breathing and your heart rate to provide relief from anxiety and depression. And, Written Exposure Therapy is a gentle version of exposure therapy where you can process your trauma using guided writing sessions. I provide a safe environment for you to experience growth. I have empathy for others and bring warmth and understanding to sessions.
