Education
East Texas A&M University, Master of Arts, Social Work, 2020 — Completed a Master of Arts in Social Work through an accelerated program, allowing for an intensive and focused course of study. Graduated Summa Cum Laude, reflecting strong academic performance and commitment to clinical excellence. Graduate training emphasized evidence-based practice, trauma-informed care, ethical decision-making, and culturally responsive approaches to working with diverse individuals and families.
Work HistoryMy clinical work has developed across a range of settings, allowing me to support individuals through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions with care and sensitivity. I currently provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults in a virtual setting, working with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and emotional regulation. My work focuses on creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and skills for emotional regulation, while always adapting therapy to each person’s needs and pace. Earlier in my career, I worked extensively with adolescents in group therapy settings, supporting teens with emotional regulation, peer relationships, self-esteem, and trauma recovery. This experience strengthened my ability to manage group dynamics, respond to emotional crises, and collaborate closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams. I have also spent several years working in healthcare and long-term care environments, providing counseling and emotional support to older adults and their families. In these roles, I helped individuals navigate grief, illness, aging, and major life changes, while also advocating for client rights and coordinating care during transitions. Before entering clinical practice, I worked in child protective services, where I investigated abuse and neglect cases. This experience deepened my understanding of trauma, family systems, and the long-term impact of adversity. I also previously served as a sexual assault advocate, providing crisis support, hospital accompaniment, and education for survivors and communities. Across all of my roles, I bring a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approach. I believe therapy works best when clients feel respected, empowered, and supported as whole people—not just their symptoms.
