Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My journey into mental health started on a personal level when I faced depression, anxiety, and insomnia in my adolescence. Confronting these challenges with the stigma surrounding mental health sparked my passion for studying psychology. I wanted to understand these conditions more deeply so I could start my own healing journey. After earning my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan, I pursued a Master of Social Work at the same institution as I wanted to explore a holistic approach to how environmental factors impact mental health.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach to therapy is collaborative and empowering. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to offer guidance as you explore your thoughts and feelings. I’m here to support you in tapping into your inner wisdom so you can make decisions that resonate with you. I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly express yourself and grow at your own pace. Together, we’ll work to uncover the insights that will lead you to a more fulfilling life.
What’s the most profound, insightful, or interesting thing you’ve learned as a mental health professional?
One of the most profound insights I've gained as a mental health professional is the incredible resilience of the human spirit. I've seen individuals confront immense challenges and emerge stronger, often discovering strengths they never knew they had. This resilience often flourishes in supportive environments, highlighting the importance of connection and understanding in the healing process. It reinforces my belief that, while we all face struggles, the capacity for growth and change is a powerful force within us all.
