What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
My personal experiences have deepened the way I understand the complexity of relationships, family systems, and the many roles people carry throughout their lives. As a parent and someone who has experienced different seasons of life, I understand that relationships can be both deeply meaningful and deeply challenging.
These experiences have strengthened my belief that people’s struggles make sense within the context of their histories, relationships, and the environments they have lived in. I approach therapy with curiosity, compassion, and respect for the ways people have adapted to difficult circumstances while also supporting them in creating meaningful change.
Clients often find that they do not need to have their story perfectly organized before beginning therapy. My role is to help you slow down, make sense of patterns, and create a space where you can better understand yourself and your relationships.

Education
Texas Tech University, Doctorate of Philosophy, Clinical Pscyhology, 2005 — I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology through a scientist-practitioner model, which integrates research, clinical expertise, and evidence-based treatment. My doctoral research, *Teachers’ Perceptions of Hispanic and Anglo Children’s Behavior and Learning Problems*, explored how teachers’ perceptions of children’s behavior and learning challenges may influence how children are understood and supported. This work contributed to my broader interest in the ways individual experiences, relationships, and environments shape development and well-being.
Work HistoryI have provided clinical services across a range of settings, including inpatient psychiatric units, state hospital settings, and outpatient clinics. My training included working with children, adolescents, and adults presenting with complex mental health concerns, trauma histories, relationship difficulties, and significant life challenges.
My clinical experiences included work with individuals across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds, including rural and urban communities and people navigating a wide range of social and economic circumstances. These experiences shaped my understanding that symptoms and behaviors often make sense within the context of a person’s history, relationships, and environment.
After completing my doctorate, I stepped away from formal clinical practice to focus on raising my family. Returning to clinical work, I bring both advanced training and a deeper understanding of the relational systems that shape people’s lives, including the challenges of caregiving, changing family roles, and maintaining connection through difficult seasons.
