Education
Lamar University, Master of Arts, Counseling, 2021 — School Counseling
Work HistoryI spent 20 years teaching elementary school students, where I was responsible for creating engaging lesson plans and teaching a wide range of subjects to children from first through fourth grade. After my teaching career, I transitioned into a school counselor role, where I spent three years providing support to students in an elementary school setting. I counseled students on a variety of issues, from academic struggles to personal and social challenges, using a combination of individual and group sessions. I worked closely with parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure each student received the support they needed to thrive. Most recently, I’ve been working in private practice as a counselor for the past two years. In this role, I provide one-on-one counseling, with a special focus on helping children, adolescents, and adults manage their emotions and feelings. My work involves creating personalized treatment plans for each client, offering guidance through difficult life transitions, and helping them develop coping strategies. It’s been incredibly rewarding to support families in a more individualized setting, ensuring clients feel safe and heard throughout the process.
