Learn more about my:

What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

Growing up with an uncle diagnosed with schizophrenia was challenging because mental health was often seen as a stigma in my culture. Due to the lack of community support, education, training, and awareness, dealing with my uncle’s situation was a struggle. That triggered my passion and interest in mental health. With my firsthand experience of mental health illness, life experiences, education, training, motivation, and a will to learn more, I can help individuals on their journeys to living fulfilling lives. I have worked in psychiatry for more than eight years in several mental health settings with diverse populations. I have been exposed to various mental health conditions, contributing to my wealth of knowledge and ability to provide quality care. I have attended conferences and training in integrative psychiatry, which has framed my approach to mental health disorders and helped me to see the individual as a whole person.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

At each visit, a whole person assessment is conducted, including your physical health and emotional health and the identification of strengths and weaknesses. I incorporate alternative and complementary therapies, nutritional counseling, and functional and integrative approaches in each client visit. I work with clients from various backgrounds and in areas that include men’s and women's mental health, life transitions (jobs, relationships, family), relationship and family issues, and BIPOC, immigrant, LGBTQ, and refugee mental health. If you belong to any of these groups, you are in the right place.
