Education
University of Nevada, Reno, Master of Social Work, 2000
Work HistoryI became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people (their inner worlds, their histories, and the quiet places where they feel stuck). My work began long before I entered the field; even as a young adult, I found myself listening deeply to others and wanting to understand what helps people move through pain toward a more grounded sense of self. That natural pull eventually led me to the University of Nevada, Reno, where I studied psychology and social work, and later into a career that has now spanned more than 20 years. Throughout my career, I’ve supported adults and older adults working through trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, and major life transitions. Teaching as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology strengthened my foundation even further, allowing me to blend academic understanding with real-world clinical experience. In therapy, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic and Interpersonal work, Client-Centered and Strengths-Based approaches, Compassion-Focused therapy, and Solution-Based strategies. My focus is to help you understand the patterns shaping your emotional experience and remove the internal and external barriers keeping you from feeling more balanced and capable.
