What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist began with my own experiences as a child. I entered the foster care system at the age of seven after enduring trauma and instability. Those early years were filled with uncertainty, but they also planted the seeds of empathy, resilience, and a deep desire to understand people’s pain, including my own.
At twelve, I was adopted into a loving family, and that turning point showed me the power of safety, connection, and healing relationships. As I got older, I realized that so many others were still carrying wounds without support, and I knew I wanted to be someone who could walk alongside them, not to “fix” them, but to remind them they’re not alone and that healing is possible.
I pursued my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work, with a minor in Substance Misuse Counseling, because I believe this field is where compassion meets action. Becoming a therapist wasn’t just a career choice; it was a calling born from pain, hope, and the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported on their journey.

Work HistoryOver the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families navigating some of life’s toughest moments, whether that’s dealing with stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, addiction, or major life changes. A lot of my experience has come from working closely with people in underserved communities, where I’ve learned how important it is to listen carefully, respect each person’s story, and offer support that feels practical, compassionate, and real.
I’ve worked with both adults and children, and through that, I’ve developed a strong understanding of how our past experiences, relationships, and environments shape the way we think, feel, and behave. I’ve helped people who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed find their strengths again, whether they’re rebuilding after a loss, trying to manage conflict in relationships, or just trying to figure out who they are and where they’re going.
A big part of what I do is helping people feel safe and understood, especially when they’ve been through trauma or feel like they’ve been silenced. I don't have all the answers; I work with you to find out what's blocking progress and how we can move forward together.
If you're feeling burned out, disconnected, or just unsure of how to cope with everything on your plate, know that you’re not alone, and there are ways we can work together to help you feel more balanced, supported, and in control of your life again.
