Work HistoryOver the course of my career, I have worked in a wide range of healthcare, mental health, crisis, nonprofit, and community settings. These experiences have allowed me to support people across the lifespan and from many different backgrounds, including adolescents and older adults, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people living with chronic medical conditions or serious mental health concerns, survivors of trauma, people experiencing homelessness, and individuals navigating mental health or behavioral health crises. My work has taken place in schools, health clinics, community mental health programs, outpatient and group practices, primary care, hospice, mobile crisis services, clients’ homes, and a 911 call center. I have provided care through telehealth as well as office-, school-, community-, and home-based services. I currently work as a medical social worker in addition to my private practice. Working across these different settings has shaped the way I approach therapy today. I have seen how mental health can be affected by physical health, relationships, trauma, identity, family and community, access to resources, and the larger systems in which we live. These experiences are a major reason I take a flexible, practical, and whole-person approach to care rather than viewing someone solely through a diagnosis or set of symptoms.
