In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I am a kind, fun, happy person. I want my Clients to be happy, whenever possible. I use Brief Solution Focused Therapy, with my Clients, unless a different theory/modality is more appropriate. Brief Solution Focused Therapy focuses on solutions, rather than problems. I also focus on solutions, rather than problems.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
My life philosophy is change your attitude, change your life. I use Brief Solution Focused Therapy with all my Clients, unless, a different theory/modality is more appropriate. Brief Solution Focused Therapy, focuses on solutions, rather than problems. If one changes their attitude, they can change their life. It is easier to change one's life, while focusing on solutions.
How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?
I determine therapy goals with Clients, by asking the Client, what brought them to Therapy. The goal setting process will include my taking information from the Initial Assessment (Diagnosis, reason for Client coming to Therapy). I will also ask the Client what else they want to discuss/work on/address, in therapy.
