Are there any recurring themes or issues you’ve noticed as you treat people in your area of specialization, and how has this insight guided your approach?
Yes. People tend to react to their feelings without taking time to understand them.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
Very relaxed and easygoing. I tend to use humor when appropriate. I make it clear from the first session that we are working as a team towards whatever goals the client has chosen. Additionally, I reinforce that therapy outcomes are directly influenced by the effort we put into the process.
How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?
I work collaboratively with a client to determine what the client feel is blocking their progress/happiness. This is a process that usually can be accomplished in one session.
