What does a first session with you look like?
Clients can expect to be met with curiosity and warmth. A good connection and rapport are integral to a healthy therapeutic alliance. Clients can expect to feel heard and not judged. Dependent on a client's specific circumstances, clients may receive additional resources and/or referrals.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use an integrated approach to therapy according to the client's needs. I use a person-in-environment perspective to view the client holistically and to help the client identify factors in their environment that may be negatively impacting them. I use a strengths perspective because I believe that clients are more resilient than they realize. I acknowledge that trauma is at the root of most issues, so I use a trauma-informed approach to help clients have a better understanding of themselves. Some specific methods include NARM (for complex/developmental trauma), sandtray therapy (currently virtual), Accelerated Response Therapy (for PTSD), and Gottman Method for couples.
