What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use a variety of evidenced based counseling interventions such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Reality Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology.
What does a first session with you look like?
Taking the first step into the counseling environment can sometimes be stressful. When we meet, my initial goal is to help alleviate that stress, provide support, and make you feel heard. I feel there is power in knowledge and I try to provide education and teach various skills which can be implemented after the session ends.
