Evidence based therapeutic methods and techniques that have proven to be effective with The clients I have served. This holistic approach includes, but is not limited to Client centered empathetic listening combined with the following: cognitive/behavioral, Positive psychology, Gestalt, Adlerian communication and respect, Finding meaning and purpose and education. I avoid using technical terms. I may use humor, sarcasm and hyperbole to emphasize ideas and break up tension. I use the mind/body connection with mindfulness and meditation to reduce emotional volatility and increase rationality. Spirituality can also be a part of the healing process and personal growth for clients that are interested.
I will use my training and experience to guide you through the current difficulty and encourage you to grow from it. I may ask questions that are difficult to answer. I may suggest that try things that initially appear to be uncomfortable. The process may be challenging. I will never push you farther than you want to go. I will acknowledge your efforts toward self- development and to encourage you to continue on the quest to improve. I use a variety of different approaches and we will determine what works best for your situation. One of my goals is to help you to develop your sense of self-empowerment.
