If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
We are all people who need help in some capacity along life's journey, and therapy is a resource that can really make a positive difference for you if you give it a chance. The hardest part is often making the decision to seek help and scheduling that first session.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
You would be in a safe "space" where you would be heard and not judged. I would treat you as a unique individual and work collaboratively with you to address your particular therapeutic needs and improve your quality of life. My style is patient, empathic, understanding, compassionate and kind. My goal is to help you reach your goal (s). Together, we can effect change.
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It teaches many important life lessons such as fear is a bigger obstacle than the obstacle itself; what is "true" will always endure; the value of gratitude and living in the present; and that a person's growth, change and evolution have a ripple effect that benefits everything around them.
