What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I first decided that I wanted to become a therapist when I was in high school. During that time, I struggled with anxiety and other challenges that the adults around me did not seem to fully understand or know how to help me with. I wanted to become an adult that could help with these kinds of challenges and who could understand in a way that was different than many of the adults in my own life were able to for me.

Work HistoryI started in the mental health field by volunteering at a crisis line while I was in college. This experience allowed me to connect with others during moments of intense pain, and help connect them with internal and external resources to get them through these challenging times.
From there, I graduated college and did outreach working with clients who were experiencing homelessness. I assisted these clients in connecting with housing resources, and other resources that would help with meeting basic needs in the long term. This experience helped me to understand how hard it often is to connect with these resources and how limited these resources are. During this time, I also completed my graduate education with the intention of becoming a therapist.
Once I received my masters degree, I worked for six years at a mental health agency providing psychotherapy to a diverse population of clients. I facilitated both in person and online sessions. Was a great chance for me to hone my skills and complete trainings on a wide variety of methods.
Towards the end of my time at this agency, I was very excited to open my private practice. I have focused my private practice on working with clients and challenges that I have found that I can have the greatest impact with. This means that my practice is focused primarily on female identifying clients between about the ages of 14 and 30, who struggle with things like anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and ADHD. I enjoy integrating CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic Theories, and Flash, which is a method similar to EMDR that helps with processing trauma symptoms in a rapid way.
