Education
Lesley University, Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Mental Health Counseling and Dance Movement Therapy, 2024 — During my masters level education I received trainings in both mental health theories/practices and somatic dance movement therapy theories/practices. My first internship for school was at The Boston Center in Brighton which served children and adolescents in a partial hospitalization program. My second internship was at Art Relief in Waltham working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in an outpatient setting. My interest in school was around polyvagal theory, how trauma impacts the body, nervous system regulation, and biofeedback in therapy. My thesis was on how to pair the different developmental movement qualities to the level of dysregulation someone is at.
Work HistoryI have been fortunate to have worked in multiple levels of care within the therapeutic community. I started working as an in home therapist for ABA early intervention with primarily 2-3 year old's with autism. From there I moved to working at Mclean Hospital on the Trauma and dissociative unit. I worked as a floor staff running groups, helping clients with regulation, and assisting the doctors to help patients reach their goals. While working at Mclean I was able to do my internships outpatient and at a partial program (see more info in the education section). After graduating I have spent the past two years working at a residential for adult men with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. I am now transitioning back into the world of outpatient to work with a range of individuals.
