Get To Know Me
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I've always had a positive attitude for life and even through the trauma of near-death experiences to the joy of watching my children marry, I realize that tomorrow is a new day. I feel the same when working with clients. I enjoy being able to use my skills to help people move from hopelessness to hope and despair to self-confidence.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
In my 30+ years as a therapist I have come to believe the biggest barrier for people seeking help is letting go of all the preconceived notions they bring to the therapy experience. To just trust their therapist to hear and understand their issues... and then believe in themselves half as much as their therapist believes in them.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Any clients who choose to work with me as their therapist need to understand I will never give up on them. They may doubt my input, resent the honesty in my responses and even curse me when they need a person to direct their anger. But in the depth of their therapeutic journey they begin to realize that I will be by their side through it all.

Work HistoryI have worked with clients to deal with many different challenges for over 30 years. Overall I believe that each of us has the intrinsic ability to understand and resolve many of our own problems and challenges. I also believe that there are times when we feel "stuck" and need help moving forward. My goal has always been to help my clients better understand the source of their problems and by teaching skills and techniques to learn to overcome these challenges so that, eventually, they do not need me anymore.
I have also learned that no two people are alike and that the troubles we face are personal to us. So much so that we sometimes feel that no one else can understand how we feel. I understand that feeling and the hopelessness it may create in our lives. Helping people who feel hopeless and helpless is why I love what I do. I would love the opportunity to help you find the happiness you seek in life.
