How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?
When determining goals with a client, I believe a key aspect is assisting the client in identifying their goals. I believe clients seek therapy for a reason but can become overwhelmed or lost in the process. As a therapist, my role is to guide and explore potential goals by reflecting what the client is expressing. Every client is unique and will require varying degrees of input in the therapy goal process. Working collaboratively with my clients will ensure we select appropriate goals and result in a successful treatment.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Because therapy is a tailored process for an individual, success will appear different for each client. However, I believe clients experiencing a greater self-understanding and decreasing their symptoms are ways in which clients and therapists can observe progress.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
Relationships, both with others and with ourselves, are an essential part of life. My life has been heavily shaped by the relationships I have built, and the best relationships have been those in which I have felt seen and heard. As a result, I strive to provide the same for my clients in therapy.

Obsessive compulsive disorder entails a distressful pattern of recurrent thoughts and repetitive behaviors. Obsessions are oftentimes unreasonable thoughts and fears that plague one’s mind to the point of compensatory behavior. This occurs despite logically recognizing the problem. The cycle is seemingly endless and instils feelings of hopelessness/helplessness. Severity of the condition varies but tends to begin gradually, becoming more intense under stress.

Trauma is the result of experiencing a perceived, extremely distressful event. Although the stress threshold for each person differs, meaning that each person considers and experiences trauma differently, it is an event that tops one’s threshold.
