How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?
We will determine therapy goals together. My process is collaborative. We start with the question: why are you here and what brought you to me today. Then, we will discuss your therapy goals, frequency of sessions, and begin planning the end of therapy on the first day. My goal is to help you feel better faster. You do not need to be in therapy forever.
How has your particular field of specialization evolved in recent years and how has that impacted your work?
My background in Rehabilitation Counseling means that I was trained to advocate for people with complex concerns and issues. This includes working through new diagnoses, navigating work-life balance issues, family issues, money issues, and healthy lifestyle issues. Naturally, I began working with a lot of women and noticing so many suffering alone, in silence. It was heartbreaking. I sought out additional training in Women's Health issues which include but are not limited to: entering the workforce, trying to create families, or learning how to navigate being themselves while becoming mothers. I love working with women who are ready for change, who want to feel better, faster. Therapy is tough work, but struggling alone and suffering is way tougher. Please do not go it alone- let me help.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
You can call me for a free 15-minute consultation. Let's not wait until our first paid session to decide if I am the right fit for you. Often, a client will know right away if we will be a good fit together. If I am not the right fit I am more than happy to help you select someone that might be! Your path to healing is what is important and finding the best fit for you is crucial for you to feel better, faster.
