Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by both personal experiences and a deep desire to help others navigate life's challenges. Growing up in Puerto Rico, I witnessed the ways in which mental health was often misunderstood or overlooked, and I became passionate about learning more about how we can support ourselves and others through emotional and psychological struggles.
Early in my career, I worked in social services and case management, where I saw firsthand how complex and interconnected mental health, substance use, and personal circumstances could be. This experience inspired me to pursue a career as a therapist, with the goal of offering clients a safe and supportive space to address their concerns in a holistic way. I knew that I wanted to work with individuals who were ready to make changes but needed guidance and practical tools to do so.
What truly solidified my decision to become a therapist was the powerful impact of therapy on my own life and the lives of those around me. I realized how much healing can take place when someone feels truly heard, understood, and supported. It’s this kind of transformative work that inspires me every day as a therapist, and it drives my commitment to providing the best possible care for my clients.
Becoming a therapist allowed me to combine my passion for helping others with my personal commitment to lifelong learning and growth. It has been an incredibly fulfilling journey, and I’m proud to be able to help others find their way through difficult moments and create positive change in their lives.
