Education
Fielding Graduate University, Master of Arts, Clinical Psychology, 2022 — Ph.D. Candidate in Clinical Psychology. Dissertation on adult attachment, mentalization, and rejection sensitivity in adults. Research focus areas in infant development, social justice oriented supervision and training for clinicians, and transgender issues.
Viterbo University, Master of Science, Mental Health Counseling, 2016
University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, Bachelor of Arts, Spanish, 2012 — I studied abroad and worked abroad in Costa Rica both during and after completing my degree.
Work HistoryI began my training in mental health at an autism treatment center in 2013, where I was trained in Applied Behavior Analysis and worked with infants/young children who were nonverbal. In 2014, I began working at a crisis stabilization facility for adults struggling with suicidal thoughts and self-harm. The next year, I took on additional work as a mobile crisis responder, working days and nights responding to children, teens, and adults who were in crisis and completing crisis evaluations. In 2016, I completed my practicum and internship in mental health counseling, the first at a small community practice in Wisconsin and my internship at La Crosse County Health & Human Services in La Crosse, WI. I did my residency in Reno, NV from 2017 to 2019, and moved to Florida and Virginia, continuing my clinical practice in 2020 during my doctoral practicum at a nonprofit specializing in treating trauma and PTSD in children and teens, as well as parents and adults who were in the military. My most recent practicum was an advanced doctoral practicum in pediatric neuropsychology, where I assessed young children and teens for neurodevelopmental disorders and effects of fetal drug and alcohol use. Currently, I am in private practice and specialize in trauma and PTSD, postpartum mental health (for mothers and fathers), LGBTQ+ issues, child and adolescent trauma, and couples/relationships.
