What does a first session with you look like?

You'll book six sessions at a time with me. In sessions, we'll focus on solutions instead of problems. You'll set concrete goals, and we'll draw upon your existing strengths and resources to bring about that change you're wanting in your life. After about six sessions, many clients experience progress and relief. At that point you can decide to stop therapy, continue working another six sessions on the same goal, or choose a new goal to work on.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) with the majority of my clients. SFBT is a goal-oriented therapy that, for many clients, produces positive results in just a few sessions. The research on SFBT also shows that SFBT works as well as other evidence-based treatments (like CBT) and always in fewer sessions. That means you, the client, get a therapy that works with less of a time and financial commitment than most other therapies require.
