What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach is client centered and solution focused. I work with each individual to help him/her explore life challenges, determine goals, and form an action plan. I incorporate tools such as positive self-talk, meditation, and mindfulness practices to help build skills to cope with daily stressors.
What does a first session with you look like?
The goal of the first session is for me to get to know you and to begin to develop a working relationship with you. I will try to gain a better understanding of what your current relationships are like, what your days are like, and how you have been influenced by your past experiences. We will work together to develop develop an understanding about how we can best work together going forward.
How do you determine therapy goals with clients? What does that process look like?
The goals for therapy are determined by you. We will work together to explore what has and hasn't worked for you in the past. My job is to assist you with identifying and prioritizing what would be beneficial for you but ultimately you determine what your needs are.
