What does a first session with you look like?
I will make sure that your needs are addressed and that you receive the needed intervention.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I Interview patients to gather relevant history including current psychiatric symptoms, previous psychiatric treatment and hospitalizations, previous response to medications, substance use, physical health issues, history of abuse or neglect, history of violence, and pertinent family history. Using the data gathered I develop a diagnosis and a treatment plan. I prescribe psychiatric medications based on clinical indicators and results of diagnostic and laboratory testing as appropriate. I educate patients on the benefits and possible adverse effects of prescribed treatment options. I monitor progress in treatment in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Imake necessary modifications to the prescribed treatment regimen based on monitoring and review of progress.
