In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I've utilized mental health services myself over the years and want to continue supporting others with the same kind and empathetic presence that was integral to my own growth journey. I have a unique perspective to bring as someone who has experienced personal trauma and worked hard to overcome it and flourish. I want to offer the same hope to others.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
That mental health, therapy and healing are not shameful. As humans striving our best in the world, we all need support and someone who listens with empathy and understanding. Ram Dass, a spiritual teacher, says "We're all just walking each other home" and I could not be happier to walk beside others along the way.
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
There are too many books to choose from, but I am going to cheat here and pick two: Trauma and Recovery by Judith Herman AND The Myth of Normal by Gabor Mate. As a social worker, one of the areas of focus is Person in Environment, how can the world around us shape experiences within us. Both works focus on the ways social, economic and justice systems play a part in the healing or harming of the human psyche and I have been largely influenced by helping victims of serious trauma understand that they are not at fault for how this world has shaped them.

Work HistoryI’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) that holds a Master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. I have 10 years of experience in the social work field. My passion lies in helping people heal trauma and reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way. I bring a calm and warm presence to my sessions, creating a space where clients feel safe, seen, and supported.
My background includes experience in behavioral intervention, substance use treatment, trauma focused treatment and hospice care. I tailor my approach to meet each client where they are, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), existential therapy, and somatic practices.
Whether you’re navigating loss, processing trauma, or simply seeking a more grounded sense of self, I’m here to walk with you in that process.
