What does a first session with you look like?

During the first session, I will be completing in intake assessment where I will ask a lot of questions to get to know you and how I can help. From there, we will decide on a path for treatment and our goals. Toward the end, I will tell you what I'm thinking as far as a diagnosis and where I see our treatment going. You will always have full and complete control, this is your therapy so I want to ensure you get what you need out of our time together. My hope is that after the first session you will leave feeling hopeful that we can create change and help you feel better.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I use a mix of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for most cases. For those suffering from PTSD, I use my Certified Clinical Trauma Professional training which includes somatic (body) work along with narrative therapy all of which is grounded in the neuroscience of trauma. I’m not overly concerned with labels and diagnoses, I’m just here to help you make changes to function and feel better day to day.
