What does a first session with you look like?

During the initial session, we will discuss what is bringing you to therapy while get to know each other to see if we are a good fit for each other. In our follow up sessions, we will explore the root of your feelings. We will connect information we gather through sessions to make a roadmap that assists with your healing. You will leave each session with suggested techniques to work on until the next session. My hope is that you take away new knowledge and understanding about yourself and your circumstances. My goal is that you take away techniques to help you navigate your circumstances while healing and growing.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I utilize a variety of techniques to meet each person’s individual needs at varying times throughout the sessions. I utilize things such as mindfulness, CBT, person centered, and energy techniques. When trying to heal and learn more about yourself, things are emotional and sometimes uncomfortable. I will do my best to honor you and protect you emotionally to allow you to work through these feelings. I offer an open dialogue throughout our time together so that if you express that you are uncomfortable with a modality, we will discontinue its use. I will also discontinue a modality if I sense that you are not comfortable.
