What does a first session with you look like?

In our first session I'll prioritize getting to know you as a person. I'll aim to gather as much information as I can about you and your unique situation as well as your strengths. We'll collaborate to come up with goals to help you progress in the areas that you find important. After our initial intake we'll begin working to make those goals a reality. To do this we'll work on changing any negative thoughts impacting your life, helping you to view things in a different light, and with coping strategies and techniques to utilize between sessions.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My primary method of treatment is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In CBT we focus on negative thoughts that influence emotion and behavior. By correcting those thoughts we can live happier, healthier lives. Additionally, I'm trained in marital and family therapy. This modality focuses on family systems and working to help foster effective communication and resolve underlying conflicts within a relationship to help repair those bonds.
