Get To Know Me
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I believe that each of us was created for a special and specific role in life. Getting to know each person, their individual character, and life experience, creates a one of kind therapy journey. I am honored and blessed to “walk along side” each person on their therapy journey to self-discovery, healing, and wholeness.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
Having experienced a great deal of healing in my own experience in therapy, has had a great impact on how I currently interact with people. I enjoy getting to know different types of people and understanding their experiences, strengths, and areas for growth in their lives. I believe that a genuine and open approach to getting to know others helps to create a therapeutic relationships that help to foster trust, personal growth and healthy view of self.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Having had a profound spiritual experience of healing in my youth, I had always been wanting to help others along their way to healing as well. My journey to becoming a therapist began as I served as an elementary school teacher. I came to find that I was interested in the well being of my students, and would enjoy talking with students and their parents. Having an interest in the healing and beneficial nature of therapy, I followed my passion to help others and have become a licensed counselor. Being a counselor is the most satisfying career I can imagine, and I am thankful for being able to help other people along their life journey.
