What is your style/approach to therapy?

The defining symptoms for each mental illness are detailed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), published by the American Psychiatric Association. This manual is used by mental health professionals to diagnose mental conditions and by insurance companies to reimburse for treatment. Treatment will be a collaborative approach. Depending on the type of mental illness the client has, its severity and what works best. In many cases, a combination of treatments works best. The approach will a variety of psychotherapy, talk therapy, methods to understand the client’s symptoms and stresses. Through talk therapy, clients are encouraged to be open about their issues, which often leads to clearer diagnoses and more successful outcomes.

The client will feel heard and understood. The goal is to providing a positive and uplifting experience that aids our clients in facing life’s toughest challenges.
