What does a first session with you look like?
The client will feel heard and understood. The goal is to providing a positive and uplifting experience that aids our clients in facing life?�?s toughest challenges.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
The defining symptoms for each mental illness are detailed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), published by the American Psychiatric Association. This manual is used by mental health professionals to diagnose mental conditions and by insurance companies to reimburse for treatment. Treatment will be a collaborative approach. Depending on the type of mental illness the client has, its severity and what works best. In many cases, a combination of treatments works best. The approach will a variety of psychotherapy, talk therapy, methods to understand the client?�?s symptoms and stresses. Through talk therapy, clients are encouraged to be open about their issues, which often leads to clearer diagnoses and more successful outcomes.
