Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I have a particular interest in working with adults navigating life transitions, recovery and addiction-related concerns, caregiver stress, relationship challenges, loss, and the unique questions that often emerge in midlife and beyond. My approach is grounded, compassionate, and practical, helping clients develop insight while also creating meaningful change in their everyday lives.
Throughout my career, I have served as a therapist, clinical supervisor, consultant, program developer, and nonprofit leader. While these roles have been different, they all shared a common focus: helping people move from feeling stuck toward greater clarity, confidence, and hope.
One of the greatest strengths I bring to my work is the ability to listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions that help clients see situations from a different perspective. Rather than telling people what they should do, I work collaboratively with them to uncover their own strengths, identify obstacles, and discover practical steps forward. My goal is to create a space where clients feel understood, respected, and supported while also being gently challenged to continue growing and healing.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
Much of my work is grounded in Temperament- the inner preferences underlying personality and often explaining the reasons why someone is seeking support when they come into the office. I love to focus on the person, become aware of the system they live in and their strengths and move towards self compassion. My personality is quiet, driven by relationships and my observation skills help me ask the questions that help clients see things from a new perspective. My style is gentle, curious and questioning vs. heavily confrontational.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I've used Hypnosis to eliminate my smoking habit 21 years ago, to have a peaceful birth, and in managing physical discomfort. I've seen Hypnosis help people make rapid shifts in their thought processes, emotions and behaviors. I offer Hypnosis services for releasing habits, managing emotional reactions, and to desensitize triggering events. Hypnosis is considered a "rapid therapy" for a reason.
